PENGARUH ALIENASI TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL

Abstract

The high use of social media is very interesting to study. One reason is the alienation experienced by the community. Therefore, this study wants to find out how alienation influences the level of social media usage. This research uses survey method. Study population of social media users around Jakarta, Depok, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi whose numbers are unknown. Therefore, the study sample was taken accidentally. The research instruments were prepared with regard to validity and reliability. The results found that most female respondents aged 20-30 years who worked in the private sector. Alienation level of respondents is moderate, meaning that the respondent alienation in a moderate level both at home, in the environment and in the office. Most respondents (68.8%) have 3-5 social media accounts. As many as 11.3% have more than 5 social media accounts. Most (51.3%) of respondents open social media more than 15 times a day. The average time spent 60.56 minutes every day. Hypothesis test results using linear regression showed there was an effect of alignment on the level of social media use but not significant. As much as 2.0% the level of media use was influenced by alienation. The shortcomings of this study may be due to the selection of samples that are too small and homogeneous millennial. Interested researchers are advised to take larger and more varied samples.Keywords: Alienation, use of social media, urban communities

                                                                                            

Abstrak

Tingginya penggunaan media sosial sangat menarik untuk diteliti.Salah satu penyebabnya adalah alienasi yang dialami masyarakat.Karena itu, penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh alienasi terhadap tingkat penggunaan media sosial.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Populasi penelitian pengguna media sosial di sekitar Jakarta, Depok, Bogor, Tangerang, dan Bekasi yang jumlahnya tidak diketahui Karena itu, sample penelitian diambil secara accidental. Instrumen penelitian disusun dengan memperhatikan validitas dan reliabilitas.Hasil penelitian menemukan sebagian besar responden wanita yang berusia 20 -30 tahun yang bekerja di sektor swasta. Tingkat alineasi responden sebagian besar (61,3%) berada pada nilai sedang. Responden mengalami alienasi dalam taraf sedang baik di rumah, di lingkungan maupun di kantor. Sebagian besar responden (68,8%) memiliki 3 – 5 akun media sosial. Sebanyak 11,3 % memiliki lebih dari 5 akun media sosial. Sebagian besar (51,3%) responden membuka media sosial lebih dari 15 kali dalam sehari. Rata-rata menghabiskan waktu 60,56 menit setiap hari. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan regresi linier menunjukkan  ada pengaruh negative alineasi terhadap tingkat penggunaan media sosial tetapi tidak signifikan, Sebagian kecil (2 %) penggunaan media sosial dipengaruhi oleh alienasi. Penggunaan media sosial yang tinggi dapat mengurangi rasa alienasi.Hipotesis penelitian tidak dapat diterima.Kekurangan penelitian ini mungkin disebabkan oleh pemilihan sampel yang terlalu kecil dan homogen milennial.Kepada peneliti yang berminat disarakan mengambil sampel yang lebih besar dan bervariasi.Kata kunci : Alienasi, penggunaan media sosial, masyarakat perkotaan
