DIGITALISASI DAN EKSISTENSI MEDIA CETAK (STUDI KUALITATIF MAJALAH GO GIRL DAN HARIAN SUARA PEMBAHARUAN)

The progressive information and communication technology development has given tremendous impact to the conventional media industry, particularly print media. The internet has revolutionerized the way information being produced, distributed and consumed. Hence, it changelles the existing print media companies to provide their prorducts and services in to digital. This is a qualitative study that aims to get a better understanding about in what way that existing print media companies (Suara Pembaruan and GoGirl) address challenges in digitatization. The result is that both Suara Pembaruan and GoGirl are not adapting the digital business model completely. They focus on to format their content to be available online. GoGirl utilizes social media, especially Instagram, to be more engaged with their readers. In other hand, social media brings challenges for Suara Pembaruan to provide valid and verified news in fast and effective ways. Keywords: konvergensi, gogirl, suara pembaharuan.

Kemajuan teknologi komunikasi dan informatika yang begitu pesat telah memberikan dampak yang sangat signifikan terhadap industri media konvensional, khususnya media cetak. Internet telah merevolusi produksi, distribusi dan konsumsi informasi. Karenanya, internet telah memberikan tantangan kepada perusahaa-perusahaan media cetak eksisting dalam mengembangkan produk dan layanannya dalam bentuk digital. Studi ini merupakan studi kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik terkait bagaimana perusahaan-perusahaan media cetak eksisting (Suara Pembaruan dan GoGirl) menghadapi tantangan-tantangan digitalisasi. Hasilnya adalah baik Suara Pembaruan dan GoGirl tidak mengadopsi model bisnis digital secara menyeluruh. Mereka hanya focus pada menyediakan konten secara online. GoGirl memanfaatkan Media Sosial, khususnya Instagram, untuk meningkatkan hubungan dengan pembacanya. Di sisi lain, media sosial memberikan tantangan bagi Suara Pembaruan khususnya untuk verifikasi berita dengan cara cepat dan efektif. Kata kunci: Konvergensi, go girl, Suara Pembaharuan.
