Abstract


Abstract

The main conditions that support the success of propaganda is their monopoly on information. Besides the characteristics of propaganda that tried to control information flow also an impact on the audience, which if the communication flow is only controlled by the communicator then the situation can support effective persuasion. This journal has analyzed the propaganda media be one strategy to win the favor is by taking control of public opinion. One way to control public opinion is through propaganda activities, so those goals are achieved. As it is known that the western world with the power of propaganda, put ISIS as criminals rather than victims and make them (the West) as heros. The media has become a propaganda tool effective for generating and shaping the thinking and mindset of the people. The model used in the study is a descriptive model with qualitative research using constructive paradigm. The study was conducted by way of news analysis. The Western world has been systematically doing discrediting Islam with negative predicates such as terrorist, fundamentalist, conservative, extremist, and others. As well as the conduct of war propaganda discrediting Islam such as obfuskasi (create confusion), disformasi (provision of information which is confusing), deception, diversion, and ways other propaganda .

Abstrak

Kondisi utama yang mendukung keberhasilan propaganda adalah monopoli mereka pada informasi. Selain karakteristik propaganda yang mencoba untuk mengontrol arus informasi juga berdampak pada penonton, yang jika aliran komunikasi hanya dikendalikan oleh komunikator maka situasi dapat mendukung persuasi yang efektif. Jurnal ini telah menganalisa bahwa propaganda media menjadi salah satu strategi untuk memenangkan kepentingan adalah dengan menguasai opini publik. Salah satu cara untuk menguasai opini publik yaitu melalui kegiatan propaganda, agar tujuan mereka tercapai. Seperti diketahui bahwa dunia barat dengan kekuatan propaganda, menempatkan ISIS sebagai pelaku kejahatan dan bukan korban dan membuat diri mereka (dunia barat) sebagai pahlawan. Media memang menjadi alat propaganda yang efektif untuk menghasilkan dan membentuk pemikiran dan pola pikir masyarakat. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu model deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif menggunakan paradigma konstruktif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara analisis berita. Dunia barat secara sistematis telah melakukan pendiskreditan Islam dengan predikat-predikat negatif seperti teroris, fundamentalis, konsevatif, ekstrimis, dan lain-lain. Serta melakukan perang propaganda yang menyudutkan Islam seperti melakukan obfuskasi (membuat kebingungan), disformasi (pemberian informasi yang simpang siur), desepsi (penyesatan), diversi (pengalihan), dan cara-cara propaganda lainnya. Kata Kunci: Propaganda dari dunia barat, propaganda dan media, media massa, teori komunikasi
